As the Endometriosis and Adenomyosis Society, we held the International Endometriosis School, which we organized for the third time this year, at Istanbul Medtronic Innovation Center on May 27-28. In our course, where we can accommodate a limited number of physical participants due to the pandemic, 60 domestic and foreign trainees have completed both their theoretical and practical training. On the first day, we included theoretical and live surgery in our course. General Secretary of the Board of Directors, Prof. Ahmet Kale, MD made a presentation on “Useful Anatomy for Pelvic Laparoscopic Surgery”, and the member of the Board of Directors and our founding chairman Prof. Engin Oral, MD made a presentation on “Management of Endometriosis and Infertility”. The second Chairman of the Board of Directors Prof. Ümit İnceboz, MD made a presentation on “Management of Endometriosis at the Extremes of Reproductive Years” and the Chairman of the Board Prof. Taner Usta, MD made a presentation on “Surgical Techniques for Endometriomas”. Our expert trainers, hosted online from abroad, Sebastian Schaefer “Imaging in Endometriosis”, Jeorg Keckstein “Current Approach to Management of Adenomyosis”, Ghassan Lotfi “Classification and Staging of Peritoneal Disease, Endometrioma and Deep İnfiltrating Endometriosis”, Umberto Leone Roberti Maggiore “Obstetric Outcomes in Endometriosis and Adenomyosis”, Moamar Al-Jefout “Pain Management in Endometriosis”, Yutaka Osuga “Diagnosis of Adenomyosis: Clinical and Imaging”, Horace Roman “Urinary Tract Endometriosis”, Jeorg Keckstein “Bowel Endometriosis: Indication and Surgical Techniques”, Muhammed Mabrouk “How Can We Prevent Complications During Endometriosis Surgery: Tips and Tricks”, and Helder Ferreira “Management of Recurrent Endometriosis After Surgical Treatment” presented their presentations to the participants. Ertan Sarıdoğan made a presentation on “ESHRE Guideline 2022 on Endometriosis, What is New?”. On the first day, Prof. Taner Usta, MD performed live surgery at Altunizade Acıbadem Hospital.
On the second day, our training on pigs started. In the training, “Different types of energy, bladder injury and repair, ureter and pelvic vessel dissections, hysterectomy, urogynecological surgeries” were performed on living animals. Live surgery of the 2nd day was performed by Shaheen Khazali, who was connected from England.
