December 2012 / Medimagazine; Professor Dr. Cihat Ünlü about the 2nd Asian Endometriosis Conference held in Istanbul “The 2nd Asian Endometriosis Congress was held this month in Istanbul and we have seen a successful organization and most of the participants were consisted of foreign colleagues.
Endometriosis is an increasingly progressive disease. Perhaps nowadays the advanced diagnostic methods used make it possible to see more of the disease. Endometriosis is a major cause of infertility and one of the most searched topics on medicine. There are many studies in our country in this subject. I would like to express it proudly, especially in İnönü University, that the researches made in this subject will shed light on the literature. As a matter of fact, these studies brought serious repercussions to the congress in Istanbul.
The congress was attended by colleagues from many Asian countries from Japan to Iran. There were even participants from Australia. Both the scientific level of presentations and the overall quality of the congress were at a high level. I congratulate all my friends who passed away. Thus, we have seen the fact that as a European country, not only European conventions, but also an Asian country, we can organize an international congress of Asia. Moreover, many successful scientific organizations in our country can be organized together with the support of developing ASIA medicine and the giants of world economies such as India, Japan, China. Turkey should be nominated to European congresses as well as Asia and the Middle East Congress with its scientific potential, convention centers and as well as excellent experience on this subject which has accumulated in the last 20 years.
The most important condition here is that the main language of the congress is English. All colleagues can also benefit from the congressional interpretation by means of simultaneous interpretation. All colleagues can also benefit from the congressional interpretation by means of simultaneous interpretation.
One thing that was noteworthy in the Congress was that all Asian participants were ready at the congress center at 08:00 in the morning and attend almost all the sessions. When I saw this, I remembered some colleagues in overseas conventions that I saw only when I was flying away and then when I got on the plane. My colleagues who spent their day in congress centers were more than that.
In our country, the world has a wonderful geography that will not be seen in any country.
One of us is in Asia, and the other part is in Europe. We should also use this geopolitical advantage in terms of professional policies.
