On June 7, 2020, ‘Endometriosis 2020: Current Status – 1’, the first webinar of our association was held with the participation of expert specialists of the association.
The webinar, which was moderated by Professor Dr. Engin Oral, was shown great interest from our colleagues. Our international faculty was Dr. Ceana Nezhat, and Dr. Michael Hibner from the USA, Dr. Caterina Exacoustos from Italy, provided valuable information about ultrasound examination, surgery, and post-surgical pain management in endometriosis cases. From our association, our president, Assoc. Dr. Taner Usta and our general secretary Prof. Dr. Ahmet Kale made their presentations that elaborated endometriosis surgery step by step. We want to thank everyone and viewers who contributed to this first webinar, which was a scientific feast with questions and contributions from participants from all over the country and the world.

As Endometriosis and Adenomyosis Association, we are continuing our awareness meetings in Institute of Loans and Accommodations. In the meeting we held in Izmir Zübeyde Hanım Girls Dormitory, Prof. Ümit İnceboz, MD gave a lecture on Women’s Health and Hygiene to our girls. We are continuing our interactive seminars with great participation all over Turkey.
On the 22nd of December 2019 TJOD Ankara Branch’s Sunday Meetings took place, which was a joint organization of TJOD Ankara Branch and Turkish Endometriosis & Adenomyosis Society. Up-to-date information on ‘Endometriosis, pelvic pain and infertility’ has been shared. We thank all the participants for their interest in this meeting.
As Turkish Endometriosis and Adenomyosis Society, we have successfully completed the 2nd International School of Endometriosis (Endometriosis School of Turkey) under the charimanship of Prof.Engin Oral, MD and Prof.Ertan Sarıdoğan, MD with a great turnout. On the first day of the course, latest developments on endometriosis and adenomyosis were discussed by our esteemed professors who were highly competent at national and international level. Our course was enriched with presentations by Joerg Keckstein from Austria. In addition, Alessandra Di Giovanni from Italy performed a “Live ultrasound evaluation in cases with endometriosis” and Natasha Curran from London presented “Pain management in endometriosis patients” which were both boradcasted live to the conference hall. Mario Malzoni, also from Italy, successfully performed a “Nerve-sparing deep infiltrating endometriosis surgery” and answered the questions of the participants. On the second day of our course, young colleagues who were attending from Turkey and abroad were given both theoretical and applied laparoscopic surgery training in animal laboratory. Participants were trained on “Use of energy modalities”,“bladder, bowel damage and repair”,“dissection of ureters and major pelvic vessels”,“hysterectomy”,“ureter injury and anastomosis”,“laparoscopic suture techniques” by our expert trainers on live animal models. We would like to thank all our participants, esteemed speakers and trainers for their interest and very rich positive feedback on our course.
On December 5-7, 5th European Endometriosis Congress took place in Prague. Current updates and research on endometriosis and adenomyosis has been shared in this congress where our founding president and the current president of European Endometriosis League, Engin Oral, worked actively for its organization. Our president Taner Usta and one of our board members Bulent Urman joined the congress with their talks. Members of our young team Cihan Kaya, Elif Gundogdu and Fitnat Topbas Selcuki had poster and oral presentations. We would like to thank our members for their participation in this scientifically extensive congress.
